Alabama is back in the College Football Playoff National Championship for the fifth time in six seasons after cruising to a 31-14 win over Notre Dame 31-14 in the 2021 Rose Bowl semifinal on Friday. In reality, the final score did not reflect how easy the victory really was.

The Alabama offense totalled 437 yards and 7.9 yards per play against one of the country’s best defensive units. Those numbers, while somewhat impressive against a playoff opponent, could have been much higher.

Mac Jones Jones was a very efficient 25 of 30 for 297 yards and four touchdowns. Heisman frontrunner WR DeVonta Smith caught seven passes for 130 yards and three touchdowns, receiving MVP honors.

Najee Harris once again led the rushing attack with 125 yards on just 15 carries. His first quarter hurdle of an Irish defender on a 53-yard scamper was the highlight of the afternoon, if not the college football season.

The Crimson Tide will play for the CFP National Championship for the fifth time in the seven-year history of the event against Ohio State in the Orange Bowl.

Alabama will be looking to win its sixth national title under Coach Nick Saban.
